The Bennett Family
Connecticut has been family owned and operated since 1945. Founded by James C. Bennett and his son Jack W. Bennett, the store’s previous locations were at Sound Beach Avenue #244 and #248. In 1968 the store moved across the street to its current location at 261 Sound Beach Avenue.
James retired in 1959 and Jack continued on until his retirement in 1981, when his son Wyatt and Wyatt’s wife Aura took the helm until their semi-retirement in 2006. Wyatt’s daughters Alyson and Laura are the present owners and managers.
The Bennett family has lived and worked in Greenwich since 1925, first on Greenwich Avenue for Denson Jewelers for 20 years and then to Old Greenwich as an independent business.
specializes in the repair of clocks, watches and all fine jewelry in addition to a large selection of 14 and 18k jewelry, clocks, watches, earrings and diamond and estate jewelry.
Ralph Block has been Bennett’s on-site jeweler for over 40 years; Kathleen Cowan is in her 15th year as sales associate.
